Thursday, 12 May, from 18:30, the Eforie (Jean Georgescu) Hall of the Romanian Cinematheque will host the 22nd meeting within the program “Cinematheque for Everybody”, mediated by journalist and writer
Cristian Tudor Popescu.

This week's event, integrated to the Bucharest European Film Festival (5-15 May), has as a special guest director of photography
Florin Mihăilescu.
The new meeting within “Cinematheque for Everybody” will focus on
Secvențe/Sequences (1982, directed by
Alexandru Tatos), as well as on
Concurs/Contest (1982) and
Faleze de nisip/Sand Cliffs (1983, directed by
Dan Piţa), the latter films including anti-system components from before the „freeze” in 1983. The authorities' giving up cinema as a propaganda tool will be discussed together with director of photography Florin Mihăilescu (
Sequences), who will answer questions put by lecturer Cristian Tudor Popescu and by reviewer
Mihai Fulger, coordinator of „Cinematheque for Everybody” project.
The 23rd meeting within the “Cinematheque for Everybody” program will be held at Eforie Cinematheques on 26 May, also at 18:30, and is to analyse the spy films in the communist period.
