ICR New York is supporting the presence of Romanian films to the South East European Film Festival, in Los Angeles (27 April – 4 May 2017).
In cooperation with the company Double 4 Studios, run by the Romanian-born filmmaker Andrei Zincă, five Romanian films will be presented in Los Angeles:
Fixeur (directed by
Adrian Sitaru),
La drum cu tata / That Trip We Took With Dad (directed by
Anca Miruna Lăzărescu),
Însărcinată în România / I'm Pregnant in Romania (directed by
Jesús del Cerro) and
Chuck Norris vs. Comunism (directed by Ilinca Călugăreanu), and the short
Flori de plastic / Plastic Flowers (directed by Claudia Ilea). The screenings will be followed by talks with the audience, attended by Adrian Sitaru, Irina Margareta Nistor, Anca Miruna Lăzărescu and Jesús del Cerro.
A special evening, on the day before the Festival's official opening, will be dedicated to the Romanian community based in Southern California. On 26 April, the documentary
Chuck Norris vs. Communism will be screened, with Irina Margareta Nistor attending as special guest.
The filmmakers will also attend a seminar on film production in Eastern Europe, dedicated to the filmmakers in attendance and to independent film producers in Hollywood.
