Documentarul “The Euphoria of Being” închide Bucharest International Dance Film Festival

On Sunday, September 6, from 8:30 p.m., the Romanian Peasant Museum Cinema will host the closing of the 6th edition of the Bucharest International Dance Film Festival, with the screening of the first feature-length film of the Hungarian
director Réka Szabó - The Euphoria of Being. The event will be supported by “Conceptual Lab by Theo Nissim.”
Winner of more international awards, such as the Critics` Week Award at the Locarno Film Festival and the Human Rights Award at the Sarajevo Film Festival and selected for being nominated for the European Film Academy Awards, the film tells the story of the dancer Eva Fahidi who was 20 when she went back to Hungary from Auschwitz Birkenau, completely alone, after 49 members of her family died in the camp. 70 years later, when she was 90, Eva was invited to join a theatre-dance performance about her life, alongside Emesse, an internationally acclaimed young dancer. Réka, the film director, imagines a duet between them in order to see how their stories and bodies can intertwine. Three women – three months – a story of crossing boundaries. Whilst key moments of Eva`s life are distilled into theatre scenes, a powerful relationship forms between the three women.
“We are happy to continue the partnership with the Bucharest International Dance Film Festival started in 2019. More than ever, the creative industries need to be supported and encouraged in this year which is extremely complicated for the communities of artists all over the world. Thus, Conceptual Lab is one of the most involved supporters and promoters of the events that are truly relevant for the audience”- Theo Nissim, founder Conceptual Lab said. Conceptual Lab by Theo Nissim will also offer the Big Prize (1,000 Euro) to a film from the BIDFF competition sections which will have the greatest impact on the members of the festival jury.
The festival screenings will take place from September 3 to 6, in open air, at the Elvire Popesco Cinema and at the Romanian Peasant Museum Cinema. The tickets can be purchased from Eventbook - https://eventbook.ro/festival/bucharest- international-dance-film-mânesc.
