Romanian filmmakers winners of awards at Sarajevo IFF 2016


     Sarajevo Film Festival announced the winners of its 2016 Edition at the Gala Awards taking place at the Sarajevo National Theatre on Saturday, 20 August.
     Albüm (directed by Mehmet Can Mertoglu, Director of Photography Marius Panduru) co-produced by Oana Iancu and Calin Peter Netzer, was granted the Heart of Sarajevo Trophy for Best Film (a prize amounting to EUR 16,000), and also the CICAE and Cineuropa Awards, offered by the Festival's partners.
     Also at the feature-length section, the production Câini/Dogs (directed by Bogdan Mirică) was granted two Awards.
     The documentary competition was won by the production Doar o răsuflare/A Mere Breath (directed by Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan): a prize in value of EUR 3,000 grated by the Federal Department for External Affairs of Switzerland.
     The short 4:15 PM Sfârșitul lumii/4:15 PM The End of the World (directed by Cătălin Rotaru and Gabi Virginia Șarga) took home the Special Mention of the Jury.
     The cinema project Otto Barbarul/Otto the Barbarian (directed by Ruxandra Ghițescu, producer Iuliana Tarnoveţchi) won the Macedonian Film Agency Award (EUR 10,000) within CineLink Co-production Market.
     Touch Me Not (directed by Adina Pintilie, producers Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan and Adina Pintilie) got The Post Republic Award, non-financial contribution granted as post-production services in value of EUR 25,000.
     Carla Fotea took home the prize offered by the Festival's partners - Best Pack & Pitch Award (Talents Sarajevo Pack & Pitch) – EUR 4,000 de euro, the amount being covered by Studio Chelia Sarajevo for the post-production of the presented project's sound track.
