BIEFF 2017 winners


     The 7th Edition of Bucharest International Experimental Film Festival wrapped up on Sunday, 2 April.
     BIEFF 2017 Grand Prize was granted to visual artist Hayoun Kwon, for the film 489 Years, while Diogo Costa Amarante (Small Town) was deemed as Best Director, and the Award for Best Visual Concept went to Ronny Trocker, for Summer. The Special Mention of BIEFF Jury went to Gabriel Abrantes, for A Brief History of Princess X.
     The Best Romanian Director Award, granted by the Romanian Filmmakers Union (UCIN), went to Luiza Pârvu and Toma Peiu, for Sisyphus 2.0.
     The Audience Award was granted to two films that got an equal number of votes: Peep Show (directed by Rino Stefano Tgliafierro) and to I Made You, I Kill You (directed by Alexandru Petru Bădeliță).
     The BIEFF International Competition Jury was made up of: Nora Molitor (representative of Berlinale Forum Expanded and of Arsenal Institute for Film and Video Art), Paolo Moretti (member of the selection committee of FIDMarseille Documentary Film Festival and programme advisor pentru Visions du Réel Nyon) and Boglárka Nagy (film project manager with the French Institute in Romania and programmer for Cinema Elvire Popesco, and as of 2016 – member of Europa Cinemas Validation Committee).
