InnerSound New Arts Festival awaits submissions until July 25th
InnerSound New Arts Festival is extending its admission period to mute films and animation shorts until 25 July 2016.
The fourth edition of InnerSound New Arts Festival will unfold in Bucharest, between 28.09-1.10.2016 and will include camera music concerts, installations, mute film and photography, as well as creative workshops, putting contemporary music in relation with visual arts and multimedia.
Among the prestigious guests of the 2016 Edition, we can find the string quartet Ad Libitum (violinists Alexandru Tomescu and Șerban Mereuță, violist Bogdan Bisoc and violoncellist Filip Papa), the cameral ensemble SonoMania, conductor Alexandru Mija, pianists Gabriela Sultana (Malta) and Mihai Măniceanu (Romania), accordionist Ghenadie Rotari (Moldova-Italy), the techno acoustic ensemble Project 128 (the Netherlands), composer and multimedia artist Svetlana Maras (Serbia), sound artist and experimental DJ Lukatoyboy (Serbia).
The Edition's theme, TOUCH, invites to reflection on touching: as borderline between technology and feeling, as meeting point between artist and spectator, as a first concrete step from prim pas sentiment to matter. The theme also represents the starting point in making the shorts, thus the interpretation being possible through any type of visual language (narrative, experimental, a combination of both, etc.). The shorts are required to have a duration between 3 and 8 minutes.
The selected shorts will be screened at the SILENT FILM NIGHT, on 29 September, 2016, at 20:00, at Elvira Popescu Hall, accompanied by a sound track especially made by young Romanian composers and played live by the cameral ensemble SonoMania, in the formula clarinet, violin, viola and cello, under the conductor baton of Alexandru Mija.
The jury of the mute shorts is made up of director Andrei Ujică, director Claudiu Mitcu and editor Cătălin Cristuțiu.
At the end of the Festival (1.10.2016), the following prizes will be handed out: InnerSound Trophy for Best Film, Audience Award for Best Film, Audience Award for Best Original Music.
