HipTrip Travel Film Festival is to unfold this year between 27-30 October at Cinema Union and Cinematheque Eforie of Bucharest. Over 20 films from all corners of the world, most of them in premiere in Romania, will be presented with those loving travels and cinema.

“The destinations we choose, both touristic and cinema ones, tell a lot about us. Tropical beaches or inaccessible peaks? Unpretentious comedies or arthouse experiments? No matter if we talk about film or travelling, moderation is always hard to achieve. At the third Edition of HipTrip, we aim at finding the balance between commercial and, and also between 100% travel, 0% cinema, and cinema-and-nothing-else. Regardless your preferences, we want HipTrip to be that Festival taking you away on trips and making you feel at home,” film critic Cătălin Olaru, the new selector of HipTrip, stated.
The special guest of the festival is director Halkawt Mustafa, whose film,
El Clasico, will open the third edition of HipTrip on Thursday, 27 October. The film was Iraq's proposal to the Oscar Awards of 2015.
El Clasico tells the story of two brothers suffering from dwarfism, Alan and Shirwan. They live in an isolated Kurd town from Iraq. Alan dreams to start a family with his girlfriend, Gona, but the girl's father, Jalal, is vehemently opposing the marriage. Knowing that Gona's father, a showmaker, is a fan of Real Madrid football team, the brothers embark on a dangerous trip to Spain. Alan hopes to meet Cristiano Ronaldo and to give him a pair of football boots made by de Jalal, pentru in order to convince the later to become his father in law.
Because this year's HipTrip motto is “Take your film lover visa”, the viewers who will come to the Festival's screenings may leave the theatre directly to an unknown destination adventure. BlueAir Company is offering the plane ticket, and the tourist booking portal Vivolis.ro is sponsoring the accommodation at arrival.
