Synopsis: The documentary relates the story of the existence of the only living inhabitants in one of the largest cemeteries of Europe. The film describes the daily life of a group of gravediggers and the microcosm that surrounds them at a cemetery in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova. Old, young, Christians, Muslims, celebrities, unknown, Romanians, Russians, Hebrews, Gypsies - they all arrive at the cemetery dead. Be it winter, spring, summer or fall - the preoccupations of the diggers always remain the same. The diggers dig and bury. They dig the earth out of darkness and throw in onto the surface, towards light. It is a move from black to white and the other way around.
