Right after finishing high-school, Luiza moved to Bucharest. Here, in 2006 she started studying Film Directing at the “I.L. Caragiale” National University of Theatre and Film. She directed short films such as Alec Pall preferă whisky, Teambuilding or În spate la A36 as well as music clips for NexT IFF, Anim’est IFF, and Transilvania Film.
She occasionally directed commercials. She has collaborated on a regular basis with the scriptwriter
Toma Peiu and with the actress
Olimpia Melinte.Their collaborations included the work on the short films
Aniversarea/ The Birthday,
Draft 7 and
My Baby.In 2012 she moved to the US, where she was granted a scholarship by the New York UniversityTisch School of Artsin order to attend their Directing and Sound master’s programme. Here, she directed
O Lume Nouă / A New World, a short film written by Toma Peiu about Romanian immigrants who had settled in the US at the beginning of the 20th century.
