The Docuart Cinematheque is a new film program, which starts with the first screening on Monday, December 17, 2018, at 19:00 at the Student Culture House in Bucharest.
The initiative intends to bring the audience in contact with the Romanian documentary by means of a monthly series of screenings. Their purpose was also to revitalize the film activity of the Student Culture House in Bucharest, to mediate meetings between the film professionals and the student film lovers and to bring a contribution to forming a film culture among the young people.
Piepturi goale și buzunare pline is the first screening scheduled for December 17. Directed by
Cornel Mihalache, the feature documentary approaches again the topic December `89 and attempts an objective perspective of the events with the help of some rare footage of a few cameramen and of the national TV archives.
“I want to know and to tell the viewers (I believe this is my calling) what happened during this phenomenon called December 1989 in Romania. I think it includes conspiracy and diversion, revolt and crime, revolution and counter-revolution, repression and manipulation, military strike and popular euphoria. All of them, in turn and all mixed up. I believe it was a state crime. And that the truth about the revolution hides, in fact, this state crime”, the director of the film, Cornel Mihalache says.
The screening will be followed by a q&a session with the film director.
The access to the event is free.
The program is made by the Student Culture House in Bucharest together with the Docuart Association and co-financed by the Ministry of Youth and Sport.
