The UrbanEye architecture and urban documentaries festival grew bigger and stronger like the hero of a fairytale. After a first edition with only one Romanian film - here...I mean there (aici... adică acolo), made by Laura Căpătână-Juller and some other prestigious foreign documentaries, the second edition was scarred by the loss of the two members of the team, CătălinaIoniță (co-founder of the festival) andMihaiAlexandru, who died in the Colectiv nightclub fire. In 2015 the competition section was introduced and also the collaboration with the Vira Association started, for the workshop My first documentary. This year`s edition included a significant national competition ( Matache-Berzei/Buzești, made by Dragoș Lumpan, The Block (Blocul) by Maria Șalaru, Up Stairs, by Alina Ușurelu), the presentation of the project Mayor for 10 minutes made by Vlad Petri and of the documentary Golescu Crafts, made by Alin Iacob and also workshops for children and teenagers and guests at the masterclass sessions.
The topics of the 2016 edition of the UrbanEye were the memory and at home. The cinema Elvira Popescu was full of professionals in the field and of film lovers. The organizational team is made of Monica Sebestyen, Irina Florea și Ioan Maxim.
