One Century of Romanian Cinema


     From September 14 to 22, 2019, DACIN SARA (Copyrights for cinematography and audiovisual – Romanian authors` in Audiovisual Society) organizes the event “One century of Romanian cinema in Bucharest”.
     For 9 days, 14 Bucharest cinemas will host the screenings of this celebration of the Romanian film: the Cinematheque, Eforie and Union halls, the ARCUB and CREART halls, the Peasant Museum Cinema, the Romanian Literature Museum, the big hall - Tinerimea Română, the National Library – Mircea Eliade Hall, etc.
     The selected films are representative creations for six generations of Romanian filmmakers, from the generation of Aristide Demetriade and Grigore Brezeanu with The Independence of Romania / Independența României, and continuing with the gold generations of the school makers up to the actual generations of the multi-awarded films at important international festivals. The screenings list is completed with a series of reference documentaries, ante and post revolutionary and a selection of films for children.
     On Saturday, September 21, from 19:00 until the next morning, the Romanian Peasant Museum will take place the “Student Film Night”. In parallel, the same location will host the award contest “one minute film, made by phone”, opened to all those willing to participate.
     Many other events and surprises will be prepared for the film lovers in general and for Romanian film lovers in particular.
     The project is organized with the support of: the ministry of Culture and National Identity, the Bucharest City Hall, the Romanian Film Centre (CNC), the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR), the Romanian Filmmakers union (UCIN).
     The event is an original initiative of DACIN SARA, which intended to present nationally and internationally the richness and diversity of the Romanian cinema, being a part of the Romanian cinema, as part of the project “One century of Romanian cinema” which started in 2017 at the Portuguese Cinematheque in Lisbon and it took place during the entire year 2018, in Spain, in Madrid, Cordoba, Almeria, Seville and Granada, in Holland, in Hague, in France, in Nice, in Uruguay, la Montevideo, which will continue this year in Chile, Peru, Argentina.
