TIFF Unlimited –new films and changes of the subscription types


     Recently launched during the Transilvania International Film Festival, TIFF Unlimited, the streaming platform that continues online the festival experience, already counts 1.500 subscribers and a catalogue of 60 films (which will be enlarged every two weeks) available only in Romania.
     Among the latest films from the TIFF Unlimited catalogue, we mention Dheepan (d. Jacques Audiard), winner of the 2015 Palme d’Or in Cannes, Juste la fin du monde (d. Xavier Dolan), which won twon awards at Cannes in 2016, L’amant double (d. François Ozon), Maria by Callas (d. Tom Volf), Breaking News (d. Iulia Rugină) or Katalin Varga (d. Peter Strickland), which receive the Silver Bear at the Berlinale in 2009.
     Since the launching news until today, the TIFF Unlimited VoD platform was visited by more than 20,000 film lovers from all over the world (including expats and also foreign citizens passionate about Romanian cinema), though the films can be accessed only in Romania. “We chose to have only two types of subscriptions: the monthly one, of 5 Euro+VAT and the 12 months one, of 65 Euro(VAT included). All the TIFF Unlimited subscribers will have a free week, after making their account on the website ul unlimited.tiff.ro. The already purchased subscriptions of 3 and 6 months are valid until their expiring date,”, Dorina Oargă, the project manager said.
Some of the most viewed titles on unlimited.tiff.ro are the Romanian productions: Dogs/Câini (d. Bogdan Mirică), About Snails and Men /Despre oameni și melci (d. Tudor Giurgiu), Somewhere in Palilula / Undeva la Palilula (d. Silviu Purcărete) and The Japanese Dog / Câinele japonez (d. Tudor Cristian Jurgiu), films presented at TIFF or in the big international festivals, such as Youth (d. Paolo Sorrentino), Melancholia (d. Lars von Trier), Wild Tales (d. Damián Szifron), The Guilty (d. Gustav Möller), United States of Love (d. Tomasz Wasilewski) or Utoya - 22 July (d. Erik Poppe), and also titles from the 2019 TIFF selection, such as the documentary Woodstock: Three Days that Defined a Generation and Pause, the debut of Tonia Mishiali, a scriptwriter, director and producer from Cyprus.
      TIFF Unlimited is a project developed with the help of PitechPlus, supplier of software applications and supported by the Romanian Film Center and the National Cultural Fund Administration.
