Cinema, a new event concept, will be inaugurated this year at TIFF with a screening followed by a gastronomical party 31 May, from 18.30. The program will also include a in memoriam tribute to filmmaker
Ovidiu Bose Paștina and a screening with Dumitru Prunariu attending, but also the traditional HBO Day (2 June), EcoTIFF (5 June), screenings at the Film Warehouse and Diversity
Day.
The retrospective
Ovidiu Bose Paștina will mark 10 years since his passing away, on 4 June, from 13.45, at Cinema Arta, with the screening of his shorts:
Atelier cu călăuza/Workshop with a Guide,
Iar ca sentiment un cristal/A Crystal as a Feeling,
Oameni care povestesc/Storytelling People and
Arta apărării individuale/The Art of Personal Defense.
At Gilău Castle, the
Hungarian Day will be celebrated with two concerts – with rock Republic and Bagossy Brothers Company opening – and the screening of
Fever at Dawn (directed by Péter Gárdos), on Wednesday, 1 June, starting at 19.00. At the spectacular Arkhai Sculpture Park of Vlaha, the viewers will have the opportunity to see the premiere of the comedy
Două Lozuri/Two Lottery Tickets (directed by
Paul Negoescu), on Tuesday, 31 May, at 21.45.
This year, at TIFF
Someș Open Air will be also inaugurated („La Butuci” Park, 33 1 Decembrie 1918 Blvd., behind Cotton Club), a new location designed for outdoors screenings, with free of charge admission, where a feature will be screened during each day of the Festival, from 22.00.
A non-conventional location will be „Sfânta Treime” Roman-Catholic Church (5 Universității Street), where the masterpiece by Carl Th. Dreyer,
The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928), will be accompanied at the church organ by Touve R. Ratovondrahety, renowned pianist with the Paris Opera, on 30 May, from 20.30.
The Film Warehouse will host again free-admission events, from 21.45, om 1 June - the Cuban zombie comedy
Juan de los Muertos (directed by Alejandro Brugués), followedby a theme horror party, on 2 June, Cluj residents are invited, together with their pets, to see
Truman (directed by Cesc Gay), an ode to friendship and love, in which a dog has an important role in his owner's live, on 3 June,
Cinema, Mon Amour, and on 4 June,
B-Movie: Lust and Sound in West Berlin, a documentary on music, art and chaos in the West Berlin of the ‘80s.
