Then European films were selected to LUX Film Prize 2016, a competition organised by the European Parliament and Creative Europe Media Desks. The list of productions chosen for the 10th
edition was presented at Karlovy Vary Film Festival, by Michaela Šojdrová, vice-presidentof the Culture and Education Committee, Martina Dlabajová, vice-presidentof the Budget Control Committee, Julie Ward and Bogdan Wenta, members of the Culture and Education Committee, and Doris Pack, coordinatorof LUX Film Prize.
Sieranevada, the film directed by
Cristi Puiu, Romania-Francecoproduction, is among the 10 finalists. AnotherGermany-Austria-Romania production,
Toni Erdman, directed byMaren Ade, is also among the ten candidates.
Three of the ten films will be selected to the final competition and will be promoted in the 28 European States, betweenOctober-December 2016. In 2015, the Audience Award was won by
Mustang, directed byDeniz Gamze Ergüven
