Seven Documentaries about Traditions and Creativity

     The Romania of the Creative Traditions launched the project Video Plea Creative Traditions, an endeavor of video-documenting the ways in which the cultural heritage can be used for the benefit of durable development, from different points of view: economical, touristic, social, cultural and identitary.
     The series of films contextualize the power of recuperating, actualizing and valorizing the traditions, but also their quality of representing creative resources for economical activities that may be sustainable, profitable and which generates workplaces.
     The protagonists of the videos are members of the Romania of the Creative Traditions community, a network that was created in 2017 out of the necessity to bring together art, crafts and the creative industries, alongside entrepreneurs and representatives of the cultural heritage and specialists who promote the value of the cultural settings.
     The examples presented in the films can become inspirational for other projects that intend to intertwine the creative industries with the diversity of the elements of the traditional culture.
     The educational role of these mini-documentaries (that of familiarizing the audience with the potential of cultivating the national heritage) is doubled by the need of defining the concept of creative traditions, an emergent field, which is not enough explored and which can contribute to defining and consolidating the national brand.
     One of the first films launched in this cultural project starts from the capacities of the creative traditions of amplifying the feelings of identity and pride, illustrated by the example of Deltacraft, the platform that gives the designers and the craftsmen the opportunity to get to know each other, with the purpose of valorizing the cultural heritage and the Deltaic crafts through the contemporary design.
