From March 19 until March 24, the 11th edition of the One World Romania International Human Rights and Documentary Festival invites the high school students and teachers to the Cinemateca Eforie to enjoy the screening of the latest documentaries.
The theme that connects the films selected for the teenagers this year is education, from many perspectives. From the sexual education to the alternative schools, from the women rights to the refugees’ rights, from the civic education to the philosophical one, each film may represent a special lesson for each of us.
After each screening, a guest of the festival – director, producer or expert in the field of that documentary – will attend the q&a session with the students, talking about the problems connected to the film subject and the human rights. These events allow the young people to have access to the information and also to be in the context of analyzing them. The debates cultivate the frankness, the critical thinking and the enthusiasm of the young people and will encourage them to express their opinions and to train their civic spirit.
The registrations for teachers who come with organized groups can be made by e-mail (
scoala@oneworld.ro) or by phone (0746.672.385) until March 9, 2017.
The students who come by themselves or with their friends are expected to bring only their school report book.
The access is free.
The screenings are organized in partnership with the Ministry of National Education.
