Over 2,000 viewers were present to all
screenings and
events during the 3 days of the DokStation Music Documentary Film Festival, between 23 - 25 September.
The first edition of DokStation scheduled 11 films, of which several very recent documentaries in premiere in Romania, such as
Nick Cave &The Bad Seeds: One More Time With Feeling (2016, directed by Andrew Dominik),
Gary Numan: An Android in La La Land (2016, directed by Steve Read and Rob Alexander), a documentary paying homages to one of the pop electronic music parents, and
Eat That Question: Frank Zappa in His Own Words (2016, directed by Thorsten Schütte), a film discovering the famous musician through and also beyond his music.
For the first time in Romania, Scottish musician and artist
Bill Drummond was the special guest of DokStation first edition. Protagonist of the documentary
Imagine Waking Up Tomorrow and All Music Has Disappeared (2015, directed by Stefan Schwietert), the former soloist of avant-garde band
The KLF is making a music experiment, trying to imagine a world where all music has disappeared.
A part of the films selected to this first edition were accompanied by live concerts performed by the band The Mono Jacks, the singer Mihail, the bands The Nuggers and Orkid, and completed by DJ set with A. Rusu and Rock DJ.
