On Wednesday The European Parliament passed a wide-ranging digital copyright directive that will give film and TV writers, directors and performing artists the possibility of renegotiating their copyright contracts.
The directive project on copyright in the Digital Single Market presented to the European Commission on September 14, 2016, introduces a series of new rules that are meant to force the online platform to share the revenue with the content creators and to offer the possibility to hold accountable the platforms that violate the copyright law by distributing unlicensed content.
