“The Romanians: 30 Years of Cinema Revolution” celebrates the 30 years since the Revolution of 1989 with a comprehensive 30-Film Retrospective of Romanian Cinema of the Past 30 Years, the largest Romanian film program presented in the U.S. to date. The series successfully launched last November at Film Forum in New York, but some of the U.S. cities where the retrospective was supposed to travel to had to cancel.
Due to these unprecedented situations, Making Waves presents a 14-film selection of the retrospective, with many of these titles available for the first time online for wider U.S. audiences. Among titles there are films directed by
Andrei Ujică,
Stere Gulea,
Anca Damian,
Radu Jude,
Alexandru Solomon and
Cristi Puiu.
