In the time remaining until the kick-off of its 11th Edition, NexT proposes a new cinema experience to those interested in short film: Random Home Cinema.
The original concept by Short Waves Festival – Poznań of Poland is brought in premiere in Romania by the NexT Cultural Society, and will have its first screening on 25 May, from 20.00, a month before the 11th Edition of the NexT International Film Festival (22 – 26 June 2017, Bucharest).
NexT Random Home Cinema will be held once every two months, each time at other venue and it will be hosted by film industry personalities or by loyal NexT attendants, at their homes. Those who will host the screenings at their houses may invite their friends, family, neighbours, and several seats will be reserved each time for paying viewers who wish to interact with new people in the context of an apartment film screening.
At each screening, the number of seats will be limited depending on the selected location, to be kept secret until two hours before the announced hour of the event. The tickets for the first of these events may be bought from the Eventbook site, from 16 to 25 May.
During the NexT Festival (22-26 June), the viewers will be invited to “adopt” their favourite short and to register as future hosts of the screenings to follow until May 2018.
At the first screening, the viewers will watch five shorts from Poland, award-winners at this year's edition of the
Short Waves Festival, to be introduced by Szymon Stemplewski, festival director.
Debut is a short animation signed by Katarzyna Kijek and Przemysław Adamski, in which a writer gets lost in the story he is trying to write. In
Grandma's Day (directed by Miłosz Sakowski), Tom needs money and decides to get them by defrauding an old lady, but his plan is overthrown by the latter in a surprising way. The film by,
Come play with me!, follows Lisa, who is reunited with her cousin after 5 years and they both set into a journey through their childhood places, where they seem invincible until Robert makes his appearance.
