Tomorrow, the German Film Days #ZFG13 Begin

For seven days (from November 23 to 29, 2018) Cinema Elvire Popesco will host the screenings of the best recent German films, during the 13th edition of the German Film Days  organized by the Goethe Institut in Bucharest.
From the box office films to the festival films and the documentaries, this year`s edition has a selection which includes comedies, psychological films, documentaries and biographical films. Every year, Goethe-Institut invites another programmer to choose the films of each edition. This year Boglarka Nagy is the one who launches the invitation: “I think I succeeded in putting together films in which I could find myself for very different reasons: my belief that the artistic act is a responsible act – even when it is very playful; the experience that some choices radically changes your life and it is ok if these choices are assumed even if they bring a period of uncertainty; the beauty of the natural and of the depth of the human feelings; the attempt to integrate the modern technology in the day to day life, so that dependency is avoided; the digital as a possible way of escaping to an ideal or simply parallel universe. To all those, a certain propensity towards the French spirit should be added, because the nine years, very rich in culture, that I spent at the French Institute cannot be denied.”
The viewers that will come to the Cinema Elvire Popesco will have the opportunity to meet some of the filmmakers of the selected films. The Saturday screening of the film 1000 Arten den Regen zu beschreiben will be followed by a Q&A attended by: Karin Kaçi – the screenwriter, Andreas Köhler - the cinematographer and Melanie Andernach – the producer.
The selection also includes films that focus on the some of the most important European artistic personalities: “besides Romy Schneider, the program offers you the chance to get to know one of the biggest artistic personalities – we are sure that the documentary about Beuys will be a highlight for the art lovers! The last night of the festival is dedicated to the film Gundermann, which is about the life of Gundi, the controversial composer of RDG Schlager music, who during the day used to work on an excavator.
And this is where the key-word for the traditional party that ends the festival comes from: after the screening, you are invited to Pavilionul 32, the new events hall of the Goethe-Institut, in order to party on the Schlager-Disko music of DJ Eugen Rădescu!” As Evelin Hust, the director of the Goethe-Institut said, the end of the festival is marked by the party where you cand listen to the most famous German Schlager music and not only. The access is free for all the #ZFG13 viewers, who are invited to participate.
This year, the German Film Days event also brings some games to its audience: from the envelopes with tickets hidden around the city to the treasure hunt that will take place on Saturday at the Goethe-Institut.
