Povestea iubirii / A History of Love, in Cluj will also arrive American actor Armand Assante. The viewers will watch his performance alongside
Răzvan Vasilescu, 10 years since their memorable encounter in
California Dreamin’, in a fantasy horror shot in Romania,

Three of the reference titles of the Romanian cinema before 1989 will be presented at TIFF. In honour of actress
Tora Vasilescu, distinguished this year with the
Excellency Award, the film
De ce trag clopotele, Mitică? / Why Do the Bells Toll, Mitică? (directed by
Lucian Pintilie) will have a gala screening on Friday, 9 June, from 17:00, at Cinema
Victoria.
The audience will have the opportunity to see together again, after over 40 years,
Ion Dichiseanu,
Violeta Andrei,
Dan Nuţu and
Ileana Popovici, in the film
1oo lei (directed by
Mircea Săucan). The feature film did not get past the censorship of the time and has never been presented to the viewers in its original version. The event is to be held on Saturday, 10 June, from 12:30, at Cinema Victoria.
Să mori rănit din dragoste de viaţă / Fatally Wounded for Love of Life (directed by
Mircea Veroiu) will be screened at Cinema Victoria, on 10 June, from 17:15. Actors Tora Vasilescu and
Gheorghe Visu will meet with the audience on this occasion.
A star of the Indian cinema, director S.S. Rajamouli will present his sequel to the blockbuster
Baahubali: The Conclusion, the biggest Indian box-office hit of all times. Actress Alexandra Borbely, together with producer Andras Muhi, member of the competition jury, will talk about the film recently awarded the Golden Bear,
Despre trup și suflet/ On Body and Soul, screened during the Hungarian Day.
French filmmaker Arnaud des Pallières will be celebrated in the 3x3 section and will arrive in Cluj with his wife, scriptwriter Christelle Berthevas. Multi-award Slovenian filmmaker Damjan Kozole, designated last year as Best Director at Karlovy Vary 2016 for
Nightlife, will be also paid homages to. The same section will screen three of the totally unusual films by Ukrainian director of Romanian origin Kira Muratova. Szabolcs Hajdu comes from Karlovy Vary with
It’s Not the Time of My Life, winner of the Cristal Globe.

Marcin Pienkowski, artistic director of T-Mobile New Horizons IFF of Wroclaw, and Corina Șuteu, international cultural consultant, former Minister of Culture.
Margita Gosheva (
Glory) will also arrive in Cluj, member of TIFF 2016 jury, as well as Japanese filmmaker Daisuke Miyazaki, British Francis Lee and actor Alec Secăreanu (
God’s Own Country). Important delegations from countries invited to Focus Slovenia and Focus: Young Austrian Cinema are to arrive in Cluj during the Festival.
