the ICR strategies and what advantages of the Romanian heritage they are based upon.
In Italy the Romanian values are exposed, promoted and maintained through the projects of ICR from the Accademia di Romania din Roma and the Romanian Institute of Culture and Humanistic Research from Venice. Rudolf Dinu, the director of the Accademia di Romania from Rome said that his team repositioned quite quickly, from the end of February, beginning of March.
Dorian Branea, the director of ICR New York, explained that ICR Bucharest, together with the ICR offices ion the world, started a vast transition from the real space to the online one and that the ICR New York strategy is based on exclusive and original content, made together with different partners, but which can be seen only on the
ICR platforms. “Art Fights Corona, Artists React to the Pandemic” is one of the ICR New York online projects, which is meant to explore the way in which the creativity
and creation are influenced by the pandemic.
Maria Floarea Pop, the director of ICR madrid, spoke about the presence of the Romanian community felt in the cultural online environment and about its desire to reconnect with the country: “One of our directions in the communication strategy was to take part of the content suggested by the cultural institutions in Romania – the Enescu Festival, theatre performances or virtual tours of a few museums from Romania.
Valeriu Matei, the director of ICR Chișinău, said: “The Romanian Cultural Institute in Chișinău focussed its attention on some series of events. One of them is represented by the exhibitions organized in the past which are now translated to an online form for this specific context. We started with the Bessarabia Generation of the Great Union and we were happy that the National Library redistributed it. Thus it was taken by all the libraries of the national system.”
Miruna Olteanu, the director of the Communication and Promotion Direction of ICR, added that the communication strategy in this period of time was approved by the ICR management before the State of Emergency Decree was issued.
