The cinema education programme for high schoolers
Éducation à l’image returns next week with a new edition and is in search of teachers passionate about cinema, willing to find out alongside their pupils as much as possible on films and their making.

Éducation à l’image is a cinema education programme aimed directly at high school teachers in Bucharest Municipality area, initiated in 2009 by the Embassy of France in Bucharest, and of which over 6,000 pupils have benefitted up to now.
The programme implies training sessions on cinema languate themes for teachers, art film screenings at the cinema during the school year, talks with guest filmmakers and practical workshops linked to filmmaking professions. Moreover, the teachers will be made available teaching material dedicated to each of the films studied.
The films proposed this year are:
The Young Girls of Rochefort (directed by Jacques Demy, France, 1967),
Oslo, August 31st (directed by Joachim Trier, Norway, 2011),
O vară de neuitat/An Unforgettable Summer (directed by
Lucian Pintilie, Romania-France, 1994).
The teachers' training sessions will be delivered by film critics
Andrei Gorzo and Ionuț Mareș, and by director
Tudor Cristian Jurgiu, and are to be held on 7, 8 and 9 September at Cinema Elvire Popesco.
Organised under the umbrella of NexT Film Education by the NexT Cultural Society, the programme Éducation à l'image enjoys the support of the National Filmmaking Centre, the French Institute in Bucharest and the School Inspectorate of Bucharest.
