The 13th Edition of the Romanian Film Festival (FFR) is unfolding in London (10-14 November), under the title TOGETHER AND SEPARATELY. The screenings will be held in one of the most well-known venues in the centre of London: Curzon Soho Theatre Hall.
This year's programme includes:
Bacalaureat/Graduation (directed by Cristian Mungiu),
Ilegitim/Illegitimate (directed by Adrian Sitaru),
Câini/Dogs (directed by Bogdan Mirică),
Acasă la tata/Back Home (directed by Andrei Cohn),
Marfa și banii/Stuff and Dough (directed by Cristi Puiu),
Sieranevada (directed by Cristi Puiu). The Q&A sessions with special guests from Romania will be hosted by British journalists Ian Haydn Smith and Mike Phillips. The London screenings will be attended by actors
Adrian Titieni,
Alexandru Papadopol,
Ana Ciontea and
Vlad Ivanov.
The Festival's organiser, the British artistic management company Profusion International, gives yearly the PROFUSION GRANT. The purpose of the grant is to promote films based on diaspora experience and to encourage the development of young peopleliving in communities outside the country. „The Romanian Film Festival in London is a 13-year old brand. Considered an opportunity to celebrate Romanian culture, FFR is a non-profit initiative, supported financially through grants and sponsorships. Its history and success have turned FFR into one of the major Romanian cultural events of the year in Great Britain. It is anevent with tradition, which enjoys a very dedicated audience”- Ramona Mitrică, Festival's director, stated.
FFR is set up by Profusion International, in partnership with the National Filmmaking Centre in Romanian, and the Curzon Theatre Hallsin London, with the support of the Foreign Affairs Ministry – Department Policies for Relations with Romanians Everywhere. The event is supported by
