For the second year in a row the gala will be hosted by the well-known actor Alexandru Bogdan.
The national television channel, TVR 2, will be broadcasting live the arrival of the guests on the red carpet starting at 8:00 p.m., as well as the awards ceremony, starting at 8:40 p.m.
The Gopo Gala Awards will also be broadcasted live by Radio România Cultural and online at
www.premiilegopo.ro.
Victor Rebengiuc,
Dana Dogaru,
Marian Râlea,
Diana Cavallioti,
Ana Ularu,
Raluca Aprodu and
Tudor Istodor are some of the actors that will go on stage to hand out the much sought-after statuettes.
Aside from the most anticipated trophies of the evening (Best Feature Film, Best Director), two other awards are to be granted at the gala. The Lifetime Performance Award will go to the actor
Ion Dichiseanu and the Gopo Award for Lifetime Achievement will go the actor
Valentin Uritescu.
At this year’s edition,
Sieranevada (directed by
Cristi Puiu) received 16 nominations for 13 categories, followed by
Câini/ Dogs,
Bogdan Mirică’s directorial debut (13 nominations),
Inimi cicatrizate/ Scarred Hearts (directed by
Radu Jude) with 12 nominations and
Bacalaureat/
Graduation (directed by
Cristian Mungiu) with 9 nominations.
