From February, 20 until June, 6, The Romanian Film Exhibition from Madrid will reach other 5 cities: Barcelona, Valencia, Palma de Mallorca, Oviedo and San Crisóbal de La Laguna, Tenerife.
During the 5 months, there will be 40 screenings of the films that were screened last November in Madrid:
Fixer / Fixeur (directed by
Adrian Sitaru),
Scarred Hearts / Inimi cicatrizate (directed by
Radu Jude),
Breaking News (directed by
Iulia Rugină),
Eastern Business / Afacerea Est (directed by
Igor Cobileanski) and
The Summer`s Over / Vara s-a sfârșit (directed by
Radu Potcoavă).
Besides the already mentioned films, in Oviedo, two more will be screened:
Sieranevada (directed by
Cristi Puiu) and
Ana, mon amour (directed by
Călin Peter Netzer). They were both distributed in 2017, in the Spanish cinemas, with the help of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Madrid.
Between the previous edition of the exhibition and the present one, the contemporary Romanian cinema had a huge success, which translated into the distribution of 4 productions in the Spanish cinemas circuit:
Graduation / Bacalaureat (directed by
Cristian Mungiu),
The Treasure / Comoara (directed by
Corneliu Porumboiu),
Sieranevada (directed by Cristi Puiu) and
Ana, mon amour (directed by Călin Peter Netzer).
We remind you that in the official selection of the 2017 San Sebastián International Film Festival, two Romanian films were included:
Pororoca (directed by
Constantin Popescu) and
Soldiers / Soldații. Poveste din Ferentari, directed by
Ivana Mladenović, based on a novel by Adrian Șchiop.
