CineMAiubit International Student Film Festival, 6-10 december

The 26th edition of the CineMAiubit International Student Film Festival will open on Tuesday, December 6 at the EFORIE Cinematheque in Bucharest, at 19:00.
Over time, CineMAiubit ISFF has become a traditional event of the Romanian cultural and educational space, being the place where some of the most famous names of the contemporary Romanian cinema made their debut. Taking place in a hybrid format, live at the EFORIE Cinematheque and online – simultaneously on CINEPUB.RO, the festival brings to the public and film critics student productions from several countries around the world. In its almost two and a half decades of existence, CineMAiubit has witnessed the colapse of an important part of the national film heritage, but at the same time, the festival has been the guarantor of the future: new generations of filmmakers have debuted on festival screens – promising voices were noticed and then confirmed. Over time, CineMAiubit has awarded names that later became the mainstays of contemporary Romanian cinema: Cristian Mungiu, Călin Peter Netzer, Corneliu Porumboiu, Adina Pintilie, Ivana Mladenovic, Iulia Rugină, Cătălin Mitulescu, Cristian Nemescu, Tudor Cristian Jurgiu, Dana Bunescu, Marius Panduru, Oleg Mutu etc.
The festival is organized by the National University of Theatre and Film I.L.Caragiale” Bucharest (UNATC) with the support of the Romanian Film Center (CNC), of the Romanian Filmmakers Union (UCIN), DACIN SARA – Author’s rights in film and audiovisual, and having as main partners the Romanian Cinematheque and the platform CINEPUB.RO. CineMAiubit was founded in 1996, at the initiative of Elisabeta Bostan, the dean of the Film Faculty at that time and since its inception it was more than a festival, acting as an educational platform as a catalyst in film university education.
The festival Jury is composed of personalities recognized in the industry - film producer Oana Iancu – Jury’s President; - producer, director and festival curator Suzy Gillett (UK); - actress Rodica Lazăr; - film editor Corina Stavilă; - playwriter, theatre and film director, professor Dragan Milinkovic Fimon (Serbia); - director of photography Marius Panduru; - film critic Călin Boto.
On the last day of the festival, CineMAiubit will present a special screening from the Active Archive program, in which restored heritage films from the UNATC film archive will be presented to the public. The screening will be followed by a discussion with the authors of the films.
CineMAiubit continues its educational programs, with the ScriptLAB workshop organized under the coordonation of Hungarian director and professor Csaba Bollok, and a 3D Characters Workshop, coordinated by professor Mirela Vlad.
In parallel with the festival, the SEECS (South-East European Cinema Schools) meeting will take place at UNATC. The organization brings together the CILECT – affiliated film schools in the region. Rectors, deans and directors of theater and film universities from Bulgaria, Croatia, Albania, Greece and Turkey will participate.
The festival program can be consulted on the CINEMAIUBIT website, as well as on the Facebook pages: CINEMAIUBIT, CINEPUB and UNATC & Instagam. We lool forward to seeing you at CineMAiubit ISFF, between 6 and 10 December 2022, at the Eforie Cinematheque and UNATC, as well as ONLINE (for the competition), on CINEPUB.RO
