Reaching its 3rd Edition,
Arkadia ShortFest International Film Festival (2 and 4 September, Băicoi, Prahova County) will host, within the industrial space of the Camexip Factories, an ample exhibition derived from the curatorial concept of Art Factory
.
The Art Factory curatorial concept was devised by this year's partner, Asociația Fără Nume/No-Name Association. The main purpose of the Art Factory initiative is to revitalise abandoned spaces and reintegrate them into the community, as well as to provide support to young artists. Arkadia Cultural Association together with Asociația Fără Nume are working together this year on a common project: Expo ShortFest 2016 – Art Factory
.
Starting on 2 September, from 19:30, the project is going to present visual arts' works: painting, graphics, photography, especially created by young artists who underwent a rigorous selection for this event. For setting up the exhibition, a part of the Camexip Factory will be turned into an
art camp seven days prior to the Festival's commencement. Within the creation camp, 15 young artists will be invited to create their works, which will be then exhibited for the large audience. To complete the programme, Expo ShortFest 2016 – Art Factory will also include two
workshops: the
printmaking workshop delivered by Claudia Ilea, and the multimedia one hosted by Andra Nedelcu, both dedicated to contemporary art. Furthermore, the exhibition will have an itinerary nature this year, after the Festival closing being moved to Bucharest.
The basic values of the project are the creative dialogue, non-formal education, social involvement of youth and raising public awareness on current urban issues, such values being promoted by Arkadia ShortFest Film Festival ever since its first edition.
ExpoShortFest 2016 – Art Factory is a cultural project co-funded by AFCN (National Cultural Fund Administration).
