Two Romanian Projects at the Venice Gap-Financing Market

The fifth edition of the Venice Gap-Financing Market takes place from August 31 to September 2, 2018. The event is organized during the Venice Production Bridge, which takes place during the 75th edition of the Venice International Film Festival.
Venice Gap-Financing Market is a platform which allows the selected projects to find financing by means of meetings with potential international producers.
During the three days, Venice Gap-Financing Market will present 46 international projects which are in the final stages of developing and financing. The selection of the projects reflects the great diversity of styles and contexts, content and perspective, aesthetics and budgets of the projects that are submitted in the contest. The selection is split into 25 feature film projects (fiction and documentary), 15 virtual reality immersive projects and 6 VR projects developed within the Biennale College Cinema VR workshop.
In the programme dedicated to the fiction feature films, there are two Romanian projects that were selected: Insula (directed by Anca Damian, Aparte Film, Romania-France) and And They May Still Be Alive Today / Și poate mai trăiesc și azi (directed by Tudor Cristian Jurgiu, Libra Film Productions, Romania-Greece).
