On March 21, the preview gala of the documentary Untamed Romania/România neîmblânzită
took place at the “I.L.Caragiale” National Theatre in Bucharest. The event was attended by the President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, the director of the National Theatre in Bucharest, Ion Caramitru, the actor Victor Rebengiuc, the general manager of the Auchan Retail Romania - Ionuț Ardeleanu, the film director Tudor Giurgiu. Some of the film
“ambassadors” were also present at the gala: the actress Maia Morgenstern, the gymnast Andreea Răducan, the violinist Alexandru Tomescu, the alpinist Alex Găvan and the journalist Marius Constantinescu, the main ambassador of the project.
HRH Princess maria and Liliana Țuroiu (the president of the Romanian Cultural Institute) also attended the event.
The host of the gala was Cătălin Ștefănescu who, after a short presentation, introduced the general manager of Auchan Retail Romania, Ionuț Ardeleanu, who is also the executive producer of the film Untamed Romania
. Invited on stage before screening of the film, the actor Victor Rebengiuc – the narrator of the documentary – had a touching speech: “It is a special film, filled with a lot of love towards nature, with poetry and other things we only guess, but have never seen
At the end of the 90 minutes documentary, the audience met the film crew: Ellen Windemuth – executive producer, Allison Bean – producer, Thomas-Barton Humphreys – director, Nainita Desai - composer and Sarah Titcombe – production assistant.
Meant as a gift for all the Romanian people, the feature-length documentary Untamed Romania
is a unique project that reveals the natural beauty of the Carpathian Mountains and of the Danube Delta. “Some things should be kept the way they are” is the message conveyed by the film. It is a documentary exclusively dedicated to the nature of our country,
The film is produced by Auchan Retail Romania and by the environmental NGO The European Nature Trust and made by the British film production company Off the Fence.
The film will be released in the Romanian cinemas starting with April 13, 2018 and it will be distributed by Transilvania Film in more than 70 cinemas in 37 cities.
