The 11th edition of the One World Romania International Human Rights &Documentary Festival bring new editions of two of the traditional programs of the One World Romania Association – Civil Society Pitch and KineDok.
The third edition of the Civil Society Pitch starts on Friday, March, 16, at ARCUB, with 3 days of
pitching, dating & accelerating between 19 filmmakers and 13 NGOs from Romania, Bulgaria, Republic of Moldova and Hungary.
The participants will work with the tutors Rada Šešić and Maciej Nowicki and they will elaborate documentary fil projects about the social realities around us.
The Civil Society Pitch will continue after the end of this edition of OWR – from Appril to September 2018, the finalist teams will continue to develop their projects and in autumn, the final stage is organized and in the end, an award of 4000 Eur will be given.
The organizations that take part in the Civil Society Pitch are: Platzforma.md, Balkan Kids Foundation, Hyde Park, OZON Foundation, SONIK START, Greenpeace Romania, The Center for Independent Journalism, Keystone Moldova, ActiveWatch, Women`s Club “Inspiration” MUS-E, The Centre for Legal Resources and Blue Point Foundation.
The Filmmakers that will participate to the Civil Society Pitch this year are: Valentin Anghel, Victor Gălușca, Anna Damaskova, Ioana Țurcan,
Andrada Popan-Dorca, Ioana Trifu, Călin Laur, Mirona Radu, Ruxandra Gubernat, Adela Muntean, Laurențiu Garofeanu, Nikolai Urumov, Hanna Eichner, Ioan Cristian, Lyubomira Kostova, Gabriela Forfotă, Clara Helena Farkas, Dragoș Lumpan and Anna Toth.
Civil Society Pitch is organized in partnership with Balkan Documentary Center (Bulgaria), VERZIO International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival in Budapest and the MOLDOX Association in the Republic of Moldova.
The 2018 Civil Society Pitch is organized with the support of Banca Transilvania.
Another project that the OWR Association developed for a whole year is KineDok – the program of alternative documentary film distribution which takes place in 7 countries: Cezch Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Norway, Bulgaria and Romania. The screenings are made as cineclubs, in unconventional spaces which are very accessible to different audiences from all over the place, during the entire year.
At its fourth edition, KineDok will showcase 16 of the most interesting documentary films from Central and Eastern Europe. The new KineDok season kicks off with the screening of the Czech film
Nothing Like Before /
Nic jako dřív. The screening will take place on Thursday, March, 22, at 20:30, at ARCUB. The directors Lukáš Kokeš și Klára Tasovská will attend the screening. The two of them return to OWR after five years – in 2013 they won the award offered by the High School kids Jury with the documentary
Fortress / Pevnost.
