Romanian Film Caravan in Onești, fourth edition  


     This year, The Town Hall of Oneşti Municipality offers a new venue – the Municipal Park of Oneşti – for the viewing of the films presented within the cadrul “Romanian Film Caravan – Masterpieces of National Cinema”, 1-7 August, from 21:00. Both classical films will be screened, such as Noi, cei din linia întâi/We in the Front Line (directed by Sergiu Nicolaescu) or Secretul lui Bachus/Bacchus' Secret (directed by Geo Saizescu), and also recent films, by directors Doru Niţescu - Carmen (UCIN Award for Opera Prima 2015) or Nap Toader - 03.ByPass. The programme will be completed with reference features from the filmography of well-known directors, such as Dan Piţa (Kyra Kyralina), Radu Gabrea (O poveste de dragoste, Lindenfeld/A Love Story, Lindenfeld), Radu Mihăileanu (Concertul/The Concert). Great actors of Romanian theatre and cinema star in these films: Victor Rebengiuc, Victoria Cociaş, Maia Morgenstern, Rodica Lazăr, Ion Caramitru, Florin Zamfirescu, Adrian Titieni, Nicodim Ungureanu, but also Aleksey Guskov, Mélanie Laurent, Dmitri Nazarov, François Berléand.
     The purpose of Romanian Film Caravan – Masterpieces of National Cinema, a project in its fourth year of existence, is to promote all-times Romanian films, being the only caravan to promote exclusively national productions. The viewers will have the chance to meet part of the filmmakers and actors of the features included in the programme.
     Within the Excellency in Administration Awards Gala, 11th 2015, the Town Hall of Onești Municipality was awarded the „Public Administration Excellency Award” at the category „Cultural Projects”, for organising, for three years consecutively, the „Romanian Film Caravan” project and for the project „ Francophone Summer School”, at its sixth edition.
     The screenings will be held between 1 – 7 August of this year, starting at 21.00, in the Municipal Park of Oneşti (near „Roată”), and viewers admission will be free of charge.
     During its four years of existence, the Romanian Film Caravan visited Ploieşti, Constanţa, Oneşti, Mangalia, Fălticeni, Alba Iulia, Gura Humorului, Cluj-Napoca, Zalău, Reşiţa, Corabia, Târgu-Jiu, Slatina, Mediaş, Turda, Giurgiu, Câmpina, Călăraşi and Bucharest, recording approximately 80,000 viewers, and having 1,700 mentions in the local and national press. Within the Caravan, all classical films were presented at exceptional artistic and technical quality standards, their sound and image being redone. This summer, the      „Romanian Film Caravan” is also to reach Ghimbav, Amara, Giurgiu, Călăraşi, Brăila, Negreşti Oaş. The screenings will be held outdoors, and viewers access will be free of charge. CineCultura Association, together with MDV Audio Studio, have been organising, starting in the summer of 2013, the ROMANIAN FILM CARAVAN, a national project with two sections: Masterpieces of National Cinema and Books and Films.
     The project has been developed with the support of UCIN – the Romanian Filmmakers Union, of ANF – National Film Archives, DACIN SARA – Copyrights in Cinema and Audio-visual – the Romanian Audio-visual Authors Association, and is co-funded by A.F.C.N. –the National Cultural Fund Administration. In Oneşti, the project is developed in partnership with the Town Hall of Onești Municipality.
