Metropolis Cultural Association, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, has released Călăuza (The Guide), the first mobile phone app designed for author films and targeting the film lovers.
The app may be downloaded on Android and iPhone mobile phones, being a platform useful both to festival organisers and independent film distributors, and to film lovers, centralising all info available on art features distributed in Romanian movie theatres and alternative spaces.
The users will receive alerts on the art movie theatres' programme, as well as on film screenings in unconventional spaces, and on other film-related events (debates, conferences).
The application is an interactive one: the users will be able to contribute by votes and other types of feedback, they will be able to book seats to events and take part to contests.
Călăuza is free of charge and includes for the time being the programmes of the festivals KINOdiseea and Cinepolitica, as well as info on independent film screenings. Event organisers and author film distributors are invited to upload their data on Călăuza.
The project is funded by UCIN (the Romanian Filmmakers Union).
