Walk & Shoot is a project which is at the crossroad between photo art and urban exploration. This summer it brings 5 workshops coordinated by some of the best-known Romanian photographers: Cristian Crisbășan, Cornel Lazia, Andrei
Păcuraru, Ioana Moldovan and Silviu Gheție.
Thought as an experience which offers the participants the opportunity to discover the city by means of exploring places that are hard to get to and also the opportunity to learn tips and tricks from experimented photographers, acknowledged for their creativity and for the courage of their approach, the workshops will take place under the sanitary safety measures imposed by the pandemic context.
July 18 – Workshop of Natural Light Portrait - Cristian Crisbășan
When taking portrait photos, two things are fundamental for Cristian Crisbășan: the natural light and the honesty of the relationship between the photographer and the model. During this workshop, the participants will learn to catch the subject`s personality, they will benefit from a theoretical introduction, they will have outdoors photo sessions with three subjects and they will receive individual feedback. July 25 – Urban Scenery Photo Workshop – Rooftops – Cornel Lazia
The participants will have the opportunity to discover Bucharest, alongside the photographer Cornel Lazia, by climbing up 6 of the tallest buildings from the central area. The workshop will cover the entire day, from morning until dark and it will include a theoretical introduction, photo sessions on the 6 rooftops and individual feedback. August 8 – Architecture Photo Workshop - Andrei Păcuraru
An architecture photo tells a believable story when it succeeds in bringing forth a context, not only an image shot from a special angle. The participants will explore different architecture styles, from the office buildings in Pipera, to the communist blocks of flats and to the architectural pieces of jewellery of the 19 th century from the Romană and Universitate areas. August 14-16 – Documentary Photography Workshop – Ioana Moldovan
Thie participants will have a special experience while making a unique documenting of the Giulești Sârbi quarter in Bucharest. While strolling the streets, the participants are invited to find out things about the quarter straight from the people they will meet on the streets. Ethics, the accuracy of the representation and connecting to the subject are but a few themes that Ioana Moldovan will tackle during this workshop which includes a theoretical introduction together with practical sessions, in groups of maximum two people and individual feedback. August 29-30 – Street Photo Workshop - Silviu Gheție
This is a street photo workshop focussed on people and on their interaction, which is coordinated by a photographer who has an eagle eye when it comes to catching the absurd on camera. Walk and Shoot started in 2016 as a workshop for taking photos and exploring Bucharest; along the years it gathers tens of professional photographers and participants.
