Nine local productions can be found in the Romanian short film competition of the 17th edition of the ANONIMUL Independent International Film Festival which will take place from August 12 to 16 in Sfântu Gheorghe, in the Danube Delta.
More than 50 films have been submitted to the Romanian short film competition. They were selected by the film critic
Ionuț Mareș: “The call for submission was launched when it was not clear if ANONIMUL would take place this year, that is why the large number of the received Romanian short films (some tens of films) gave us hope and faith. Because of the context, we were forced to choose fewer titles, which can be seen in the presence of their authors. It is a competition dominated by women directors – seven of the nine films are made by female filmmakers and some of them will be screened in premiere in Sfântu Gheorghe. And all of them tell strong, touching stories.”
