Alice Mănoiu was a film critic; she graduated the Faculty of Philology of the Bucharest University and the “I.L.Caragiale” Institute of Theatre and Film – Theatrology and Filmology section (class of 1964). She has written film reviews in many publications, among which the “Cinema" magazine, where she was an editor from 1962 to 1989.
She co-wrote the books "Contribuții la istoria cinematografiei în România” (1971), "Cinematograful românesc contemporan. 1949-1975" (1976) and wrote "
J.A. Bardem" (1959).
In 1986 she receives the ACIN award for the critical valorizing of the Romanian film and in 2017 she receives the Excellency Award from the Romanian Filmmakers Union (UCIN).
