The European producers, members of the ACE network, have recently chosen a new president – Antoine Simkine and a new executive board.
Alongside other three members,
Ada Solomon, was chosen to be part of the executive board. She produced
Radu Jude`s latest feature film,
"I Do Not Care If We Go Down in History as Barbarians / Îmi este indiferent dacă în istorie vom intra ca barbari" (Crystal Globe at the 2018 Karlovy Vary Film festival). She also produced other films that received awards at other important film festivals, such as
Aferim!,
Soldiers / Soldații. Poveste din Ferentari,
Child`s Pose / Poziția copilului. Ada Solomon is member of the board of the European Film Academy and coordinator for Romania of the European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs (EAVE). Since February 2018 she also became
the president of the EWA - European Women's Audiovisual Network. In 2018 she also received
a primit Central European Initiative Award, given by the Trieste Film Festival. In 2013 she received the
Premiul European Co-production – Eurimages Award, during the European Film Awards Ceremony in Berlin.
The other three members of the board are: (deputy director of Amsterdam`s EYE Film Institute), Sébastien Beffa (partner at Paris-based sales agency Playtime) and Signe Byrge Sørensen (producer of
The Act of Killing).
Antoine Simkine will be the ACE president for two years; his producing credits are
Sangailes vasara (2015),
Les oiseaux de passage (2015) and
Mr Gay Syria (2017).
Founded in 1993, ACE Producers is a network of professionals which encourages and supports the international co-productions. Nowadays it has 200 members out of 45 countries.
