 „Am filmat două săptămâni în București și aproximativ zece zile în județul Covasna. Filmarea din Transilvania s-a putut realiza numai datorită Anei Maria Popa, Direcției Județene pentru Tineret Covasna, lui Răzvan Rădulescu și Universității Karlsruhe. Răzvan a venit împreună cu cinci studenți de la Universitatea HFG Karlsruhe și au participat la filmare alături de restul echipei. Tot ei ne-au ajutat cu camera de filmat și cu o parte din echipamente. Pentru filmarea din București ne-a ajutat financiar actorul Marius Manole.”
”One and a Half Prince is connected with two of my previous projects. I also mean the approach, because if in my first film, The Belly of the Whale, I set off with a friend, Ana Szel, this time, I made the film with Iris Spiridon, also a good friend. In both cases, we decided to write some scripts inspired by events in their lives, and from the very beginning we decided that they would play the main role. And it’s true. I tried to bring back a certain world, a certain social class, the one of people who are around 30-40 years old, who are still looking for their place in contemporary Romanian society. People that are a little bit confused, that didn’t adapt. It is for this reason that I chose a divorced father, a gay guy and a single woman to play these characters. I think what characterizes this generation of which I am a part and which also you can see in the film is the fact that it no longer respects the classic rules of maturity. I tried not to judge, but it seems to me that the type of family that I grew up into, the family in its traditional form, is becoming less and less common around us. And that was another theme that preoccupied me and continues to preoccupy me and the film's co-writer, Iris Spiridon.”

”Ana Lungu's cinema is an intimate one, to a certain extent even private: an ethnography from within, not without irony, but also not without self-complacency, of a small artistic-hipster-bohemian world. If some viewers find it charming and others find it irritating, this may be due to the attitude of some towards this social segment.” (Revista Vatra)
