Cluj 2017 Kinofest Marathon is to bring the audience 277 award-winning shorts, to be screened between 18 - 26 March, over 11:00 – 05:00, at Urania Palace. Admission will be free of charge.
Best of Kinofest section includes 30 shorts awarded at the Festival, from Luis Figuero's film, entered into the World Records Book for the largest number of prizes won (over 200), to
A Morning Stroll by Grant Orchard (Great Britain), winner of BAFTA, Sundance and nominated to Oscar for animation.
For animation fans, the recommended programmes are:
Adventures in Animation (47 films),
Animation Zone (42),
Play Asia (19) and
Visual FX (17). The animated films included in these programmes are varied productions, from films made by students from famous specialised universities (Gobelins, ESMA, ArtFX), to independent productions or productions by well-established studios (Platige, FUMI, Studio WASIA).
Adventures in Motion and
World Panorama will present 26 and respectively 19 fiction shorts from 4 continents: Europe, Asia, North and South America.
Spooky Shorts includes 19 horror/thriller shorts,
Comedy Shorty gathers 31 savoury comedies, and
Jukebox compile 27 videoclips of the Festival's official selection.
The Cluj marathon will also screen Romanian productions:

Urania Palace will also host a digital graphic exhibition of the Kinofest art gallery (with works by illustrators from various countries), as well as concerts and parties.
