Film Critics Association 2015 Award for Best Film Journalism

HyperFest 2016

This year`s edition of The International Student Film Festival, HyperFest is an updated approach of the event that has been organized for 15 years already by the Hyperion University. Dedicated to the film director Geo Saizescu, professor at the film directing section of the university, the festival was organized by a group of graduates. As Vlad Leu, the pro-Dean of the Film Faculty, this is the best experience for a producer.
Avram Iclozan made the selection of the films and was the manager of the 2016 HyperFest. In the opening night, the feature film Double, directed by Catrinel Dănăiață was screened; she is also a professor at the Film Faculty.
The actors Corina Moise, Dorian Boguță, Ștefana Samfira and the cinematographer Pătru Păunescu came to meet the audience.
The screenings and the masterclasses with Dorotheea Petre, Radu Nicoară, Nap Toader were held at the Cinema Europa, which is a cinema that is a bit forgotten by the viewers, even if it is really close to the city center. The school films from many European universities were juried by the film directors Catrinel Dănăiață, Andrei Chiriac and Radu Potcoavă, the actr
ess Anemona Niculescu and the cinematographer Pătru Păunescu. Radu Potcoavă and Pătru Păunescu were impressed by the quality of some short films, especially productions of the German film school.
The awarded Romanian films were:  All Rivers Run to the Sea (directed by Alexandru Badea, the Best Romanian Short Film Award), A While Ago (directed by StelaPelin, special mention for a Romanian short film), Guilty for Freedom (directed by Mihai Adrian Stanciu, special mention for a Romanian short film), Matei (directed by Andreea Simion, special mention for Best Actor – Matei Cojocaru), Officer (directed by Ștefan Zaharia, the audience award).
Every evening the program of the festival included Romanian films, mostly recent productions. At the screening of Bogdan Mirică`s film, Dogs, we met Ioan Tiberiu Dobrică, who is an 11th grade student of the Dinu Lipatti High School (the acting class). Tiberiu was one of the actors of the HBO mini-series Silent Valley, directed by Marian Crișan.
Cinema Europa was quite animated during the festival days.
