Special edition sing-along, at Audience Award Film Festival 2017


     Between 21 - 23 April 2017, Audience Award Film Festival invites the public to sing at the Farmers Museum Cinema within a special sing-along edition screening three of the latest most acclaimed musical films: La La LandOnceMamma Mia! The second edition of the festival returns with a selection of films granted awards by the audience of the biggest world festivals, and also with special music nights at the Farmers Club in Bucharest.
     La La Land (directed by Damien Chazelle), winner of six Oscars in 2017, among which Best Director, Best Actress and Best Soundtrack Awards, will open the series of the musical screenings. On Friday, 21 April, from 20:00, the viewers will have the opportunity to watch the movie singing along the lyrics of the famous piece “City of Stars” that got the film the Oscar for Best Song also. Winner of the Audience Award at the Toronto Festival, La La Land captures the daily joys and disappointments of two young people, Mia (Emma Stone) and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) in their struggle to fulfil their dreams.  
     The screening will be followed by a special concert performed by Ada Milea, Bobo Burlăcianu, Vladimir Ivanov and Alex Neagu, at the Farmers Club, from 22:00.
     Once (directed by John Carney) was in its turn granted the Oscar for Best Song. The piece “Falling Slowly” was written, composed and played by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, the protagonists of the film that might be considered “the best musical film of our generation”, as Michael Phillips from the Chicago Tribune stated. Once won the Audience Award at Sundance and at Dublin Festival and is to be screened at the Audience Award Film Festival on 22 April, from 20:00. Shannon Ceili Band and the guests Ștefan Orheanu and the Irish Way Band will carry on the Irish night, from 21:30, at the Farmers Club, with traditional music and dances.  
     On Sunday night, the viewers will have the chance to sing along “Honey, Honey", “Dancing Queen", “Voulez-Vous" and other famous songs by ABBA, together with the characters played by Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan, at the sing-along screening of Mamma Mia! (directed by Phyllida Lloyd). “ABBA-solutely fabulous”, as Daily Mail wrote about the film that got the Audience Award at People's Choice Awards, 2009 and was nominated to the Golden Globes. The film is scheduled on 23 April from 20:00, being followed by a Karaoke Party with famous songs from movies, at the Farmers Club, from 22:00.
